All the Tori you can handle!

A nice little music tidbit before I head toward the Great Green North:

On September 26, Tori Amos will release A Piano: The Collection, a five-disc box set featuring her greatest hits, B-sides and unreleased songs. Included in the collection's 86 tracks are an extended version of Amos' 1992 debut, Little Earthquakes, remixes of songs from her Boys for Pele album and an entire disc of career-spanning flipsides. The set also comes with extensive liner notes penned by Amos herself

Love it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!! Have a great holiday, everybody!

Northville has been conquered!!!

Well, three races down for this summer...more to come? We shall see. Ron and I are starting a new training program for the next 15 weeks that will supposedly get us ready for a half marathon. Yep, we took our crazy pill this morning. How about you? I had the pleasure of crossing the finsh line last Saturday with Sarah, Emily and Ron - here we are!

Getting ready to take on downtown Northville...and the hills...oh, the hills...

Ron in all his sweaty-soaked glory!

We are victorious!

My Bauhaus/NIN XXXtravaganza review to come...soon...in the meantime, whet your appetite here and here.

Greetings from My Space

I'm writing this from the MySpace Internet Cafe. There is plenty of internet, but no cafe. I want to take all of these emotastic little boys and put them in my pocket and take them home and put them in a cage. Those cuties, with their spikey belts and their myspace hair and their capri jeans and their lumberjack shirts that are three sizes too small.

All for the love of one Miss Mary Abraham. If I was a 15 year old emo kid right now, this would be my haven. No panic at this disco.

Definitely NOT the World's Game...

USA bit the big one against Ghana - final score, 2-1. Oh well...nobody watches soccer here anyway. MAYBE IF PEOPLE STARTED, WE WOULD HAVE MORE INVESTED IN THE GAME AND A MORE ENTHUSIASTIC DRIVE TO WIN. I'm just saying, that's all.

It's all happening... / Sexy Sex-Off #6 - Trent Sunday Edition

Plane ticket to Europe was purchased today. Well, it's official. I'm going to Europe. Holy shit. This. Is. AWESOME.

In honor to Trent Sunday, I would like to dedicate this latest SS-O to Mr. Michael Trent Reznor. So ladies (and maybe a fella or two), you tell me, who do you dig more?

Downward Spiral-era "I'll-eat-your-baby, did-I mention-I-love-fishnets" Trent

The Perfect Drug-era "Where's-my-gobblet-and-my-septre" Trent

The Fragile-era "I'm-still-a-troubled-soul- but-now-I-have-a-sensible-haircut" Trent

With Teeth-era "I-can bench-press-your-mom, have-you-met-my-TAMBOURINE, bitch?" Trent

Take your pick...and I'll see you at DTE on June 25th!!!

Finally, The Smerigan lives! Check out his latest post - thy World Cup runeth over!

Can you hang this up in the hallway?

Things in this world that I love:

1. Ron
2. Hot Pockets
3. Cyn-dog

Number Three, my beautiful baby saby, offered up this hilarious clip from the new "Strangers with Candy" movie - breaking up is hard to do. I heart Stephen Colbert!

EDIT: If you do not find you name in this particular "Top 3" list, do not feel as if my love does not flow for you like chocolate from a fountain. I have many lists in my life, and while not all of them are posted here, know that everyone is Number One somewhere in my life.

More "Lost" to Experience!

New developments in the world of Alvar Hanso:

Click on the Institue for Geonomic Advancement link under Active Projects. You will see a lung x-ray in the lower right corner of your screen. In the upper right-hand corner is a side-by-side comparison of mutant cells and normal cells. Move your mouse over three parts of the cell in the following order:

Notice what appears in the lung x-ray when you scroll over each portion of the cell. Three words: Retrievers Of Truth. And, yes, there is a website. Peak around the site before you move onto the next step - it's pretty far out, pretty ridiculous and supported by The Hanso Foundation. Our furry friend looked just like Vincent, who shares his name with the ROT's founding doctor. Hmmm...Sign up for the newsletter and you'll receive an introductory email with an interesting story. And yes, there is a puzzle piece within the story...okay, I'll tell you.

Go back to the Retrievers of Truth homepage and type "porter" into the email field. You will be taken to a message board where some ROT members are onto Hanso's little game. You also learn that access to the electro-magnetic resonance project has been "denied indefintely." Hmmm...maybe because it was destroyed in the season finale??? The Hanso conspiracy has also hit the airwaves. Check out this broadcast from DJ Dan. The last post does say to check back often. Another cog in the machine that is the Nerd-o-matic 5000.

Race for the Cure - Success!!!

It was an exhausting, action-paced weekend, but we ran and survived! Had an aweseome time with the birthday hotties and watched my cousin graduate from high school (Female Athlete of the Year- WHAT!). Oh yeah, and we ran through downtown Detroit on a beautiful Saturday morning. An inspirational morning! Here is what we saw:

Pink Tiger!!! Ron and I before the Race

Runners were able to sign this huge board, thanking the volunteers

Ford had its own Pink Warrior car (and I now have a scarf to match!)

Make way for the drum circle!

Flammingo crossing - these guys were everywhere!

Lila Lazerus - Opening Ceremonies MC

Home sweet Home - my final time - 27:28; Ron's final time - :24:42

Sweaty and victorious!!!

We couldn't have asked for a better day. I improved my time by four minutes, and Ron's time improved by three minutes. In two weeks, we conquer Northville!

EDIT: After a very athletic conversation on Saturday, I thought it might be a nice idea in the near future to get some good people together and play some VOLLEYBALL. We're talking beach volleyball - more playing time and endless excuses to dive in the sand. It's summer and most of us have taken to being more active, be it with tennis, running, walking, etc. Just something to keep in the mental file. Some people follow football, some follow MLB. This is my game.

Race Day!

Tomorrow, Ron and I truly will run the city. Time to beat - 31:42. We are limber and we are ready to run it out, bitch. Lots of sunshine and 57 degrees - perfect.

Now, if only we could integrate this technology into our training. Hit play and watch the video. Just when I think Apple can't get any cooler...

This Sunday, my boys are back - IT'S ENTOURAGE!!! Aquaman - coming in tights to a theater near you!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go sell some plasma...and wipe the drool off of my desk.

Why I have the best boyfriend on the planet Earth

I now have my very own squeezable gorilla monkey to call my own. A blue gorilla monkey. I've always wanted to have my boyfriend win me a ridiculously oversized stuffed animal at a fair/amusement park. I can die having lived a full life.

K. Fed dresses for success

I couldn't resist. He looks like horribly air-brushed gameshow host.

"Win, Loser or Draw"

Two worlds collide...

Quote of the Day:

From a cerebral vascular surgeon at the University of Michigan:
"It's a lot easier to do brain surgery than it is to talk on television."

Um...I can't peel a carrot without flaying myself. I'll get in front of the camera any day of the week. These doctors are some of the most brilliant men and women on the planet. Think about it - brain surgery, people!!! Totally aweseome.

Amberpalooza!

Best news ever! With buckets and buckets of free time, Amber is coming back to Detroit for a limited nine-week* review of birthday parties, concerts and much, much social time! The month of June never had it so good!

Oh and if you're smart and you like good music (of course you do!), you would be wise to check out Mary Abraham in the near future. Not only is she a super-charming, all-around-sassy lady, but she has the pipes to back it up. She's now playing shows with her full band and they sounded great last night...well, as great at you can sound at the New Way! Check out her myspace page for a listen then come to one of these shows - and do not miss the show at the myspace internet cafe - the venue itself will have you talking for days!
