Off to the course

I don't think it's a more perfect morning for disc golf. We're off to tackle the Hines Park course - I hear is among the most challenging in the area. Ah, the game where punks and hippies can play together in perfect harmony. I feel very relaxed...I needed a weekend of family and euchure and board games. Top it off with some WAB last night and I slept like a baby.

And I PROMISE I will get in touch with The Super Fucking Awesome this week and I will have tour diaries to post. They aren't very good at returning phone calls. Last time we chatted they were in New Zeland looking for Mount Doom and Hobbiton. These drugs are quick.

Tolerance Supreme

Ron is drunk and is able to pay bills at the same time. Super Genius.

Just in time for me to leave

Hey ya'll! Britney-style! Great Flaming Lips doc tonight and we caught the FEVER, Boogie Fever that is! Without a doubt, I was born in the wrong decade. Erasure, New Order, Rick James - GOLD. Going up north tomorrow to Grandpa and Mitzy's. Time to seriously relax. Monday, perhaps some disc golf. Who knows, it's a whole day with no obligations!

"So I was in the restroom, and I was checking out this guy. Turns out it was my boyfriend." Quote of the night, next to Allyson screaming at the top of her lung "I love Hayden Christensen, even though he kills children!!!"

I apologize for the lack of blog. I know it's pathetic and I hope that everyone will still come and visit me! I am still here! Work has taken over my brain and I still feel very diconnected. No more excuses, though. Back on the blog wagon for me...as soon as I get back in town. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and perhaps some Eddie Money (Big Matt!).

Duh Duh Duh, duh, DUH DUH, duh, DUH DUH

I know some of you don't understand, and I'm not here to convince you of anything. Tonight will be mildly exhausting, but I can't wait. Episode III - we know what happens, and we can't wait to watch. Yoda, the epic confrontation of Master and Student, the Dark Side takes hold, and, yes, The Costume. Bring it on, bitches. The nerds have come home. Welcome.

On another note, I feel so disconnected. I second Russ's emotion - I need to catch up on everything; my friends, my reading, the world in general. But for now, all eyes are on Anakin Skywalker and Star Wars. Am I crazy? Absolutely. Peace out.

West SIDE!

I'm glad my U2 loving pals made it back feeling fully rocked and with music in their hearts...and in their shopping bags. But seriously, did you guys really think that you were going to walk into a record store and not buy anything? That's a level of will power none of us will achieve.

Off to the Kalamazoo Animation Festival this weekend and to cheer on Jax as she takes on the 5k River Run in Grand Rapids. Live Strong, grah! LIVE STRONG! I'll be missing The Muggs and Lorreta Lucas on Saturday...but I'll be gaining Today I Wait and Nain Rouge on Friday. Tonight, softball cheering and Apprentice anticipation. Work is kicking my ass. I just think of it as job security.

He'll hate me for saying this, but someone should call Ron this weekend. I don't want him to be lonely while I'm away.

Pistons, wine and comics

Dude, time to take a breath. Why can't I seem to catch up with life??? Work, DE-TROIT BASKET-BALL, graduation parties, LOST/ALIAS (most anticipated season finales to date? A resounding YES), salivating over Orlando Bloom with Rashel (Kingdom of Heaven-style, don't knock it...and he's on the cover of Rolling Stone), catching up on reading...I actually have a night off. I can't believe the Pistons are leading by almost 20 - they are en fuego for sure. But nothing goes better with new issues of Ex-Machina and Supreme Power than a glass of homemade wine. Seriously, I wish more of our friends read comics. I know, I know, it's not easy to get started late in a series, but both afore mentioned books are examples of some of the best literature (yep, I said it, come and fight me) I've read in the last couple of months. The dialogue, the symbolism, the foreshadowing, the art, the creativity, it's a world that you need to at least appreciate. I won't go into much detail now, since it would be lost on most. Long story short, I have a happy feeling right now, especially since Supreme Power is about to explode in about two issues...I can feel it. Oh J. Michael, you tease me with your magic words! The best way to jump right into the series is to buy the trade paperbacks (larger volumes that include 6-8 issues bound together) and start from there. It's actually cheap than buying issue to issue.

I totally agree with Amber, when did Trent Reznor turn into Keanu Reeves? He's so creepy and so crushable - I'm so torn. Trent is the new black.

9 DAYS, 1 HOUR, 30 MINUTES AND 30 SECONDS, 29, 28, 27 UNTIL EPISODE THREE!

Up to my eyeballs in Star Wars

Over the last two weekends, Ron and I have taken advantage of having zero plans to catch up on all that Star Wars has to offer. We've done it all. Episodes 1,2, 4-6 as well as the wonderfully conprehensive and entertaining "Empire of Dreams" documentary focusing on the making of 4-6. 18 Days until Revenge of the Sith - who's coming to the midnight show? I hope Shawn wears his costume (Storm Trooper or Vader helmet?)!

Tonight, Ron and I are swanking it up and headed out to Andiamo's for our aniversary dinner. Yep, six friggin' years. As he said this afternoon, "we've been dating longer than some people have been married." Word is bond, my man.

This week - Piston's Tuesday, ALL NEW Lost/Alias Wednesday, Adult. on Friday. And work - jeezy creezy, talk about job security. Shit, man. Thank God we spent this weekend relaxing!

Oh, and we're going to see U2 on October 25th. Sometimes I think my life is a dream.
